Unemployment benefit if you have been laid off
The standard rules for unemployment benefit also apply to those who have been laid off, and those laid off can submit claims for unemployment benefit from the date of their lay-off. However, certain additional rules and conditions apply to lay-off situations.
Occupational injury and illness
Occupational injury is defined as a personal injury, illness or death resulting from an occupational accident. An illness may also be approved as an occupational illness if it is a result of a harmful influence from the working environment and is one of the illnesses mentioned in the regulations relating to occupational illnesses.
Sickness benefits for employees
Sickness benefits compensate for loss of income for those who are occupationally disabled due to an illness or injury.
Submit an employment status form online - NAV
To register as a job seeker or to receive unemployment benefit while you are seeking work, you need to report to NAV every 14 days. You can do this by submitting an employment status form online.
