Title: Registering a Birth
Description: A birth should be registered within three months of the date of birth at the Registrar of Births and Deaths in the district in which the birth took place. If the birth has not been registered within three months as prescribed by law, an appointment is required with the Registrar of the Civil Registry to enable Late Registration. If the mother was married to the baby's father at the time of the birth, the mother may register the birth without the father being present.
