All lands that become available for leasing are publicly advertised in the daily newspapers and interested parties are invited to submit an application. Individuals, registered agri-businesses and cooperatives that do not currently own agricultural land may apply for a parcel of agricultural state land. Once the lease is finalised, county officers make regular visits (at least one per year) to each tenant, for the purpose of monitoring conformance to the terms and conditions of the lease agreement and for the updating of land records. |
