Under the Halal Certificate and Label Order Amendment 2017, it is now required for all businesses in Brunei producing, supplying and serving food and beverages to obtain Halal certification, either a Halal Permit (Label) or a Halal Certificate. Failure to comply will result in a fine of less than BND8,000 and/or face two years in jail.
This service is provided by the Halal Food Control Division under the Ministry of Religious Affairs. This service is for businesses who manufacture or produce food products or any item that is orally consumed (including medicine and supplements) for supply and distribution. |
