Parental allowance
It is a substitute economic benefit of the salary, which protects the worker who is on leave for reasons of paternity. Dependent workers are entitled to a 13-day leave from the day of delivery. The first three days are in charge of the company and the next 10 are payments by BPS. In the case of non-dependent workers, they are entitled to a 10-day license. Foreign workers who do not have a Uruguayan identity card will not be able to carry out the process until they obtain the aforementioned document, with the exception of those who have a special border document.
