Apply for a new adult passport	You need a passport to travel overseas. Most people can apply for a new passport online. It costs $180 and takes up to 10 working days.
Renew or replace a child passport	Most people can renew a child passport online even if it's expired, lost, stolen or damaged. It costs $105 and takes up to 10 working days.
Apply for a new child passport	All children under 16, including babies, must travel on their own passports. They must have consent from a parent or guardian.
Get your child a New Zealand passport when born overseas	If you are a New Zealand citizen by birth or grant and you have a child overseas, you can register them as a New Zealand citizen by descent and get them a New Zealand passport.
Get yourself a New Zealand passport when born overseas	If you were born overseas and at least 1 of your parents is a New Zealand citizen by birth or grant, you can register as a New Zealand citizen by descent and get a New Zealand passport.
