Get an EORI number
You need an EORI number to trade goods with countries outside the EU. If you’re based outside the EU you need an EORI number to trade goods with the UK. Check if you need to register for VAT before you apply.
Tax and customs for goods sent from abroad
Anything posted or couriered to you goes through customs to check it isn’t banned or restricted and you pay the right tax and ‘duty’ (customs charges) on it.
