Apply for a child performance licence	A child under school leaving age may need a licence if they take part in certain events. The person in charge of the event must apply to the child’s local council for a child performance licence. Do this at least 21 days before the event.

House in multiple occupation licence	A house in multiple occupation is a property rented out by at least 3 people who are not from 1 ‘household’ (eg a family) but share facilities like the bathroom and kitchen. It’s sometimes called a ‘house share’.
House in multiple occupation licence (Scotland)	Contact your council for a licence to rent out your property as a house in multiple occupation (HMO) in Scotland.
House to house charitable collections licence (Northern Ireland)	To promote or make charitable house to house collections in Northern Ireland, you require a licence from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI). Apply to the PSNI station in the area in which the collection is to be made. Limited exceptions apply when a licence will not be required.
House to house collection licence (England and Wales)	You must apply to your council for a licence if you want to collect money or goods (that you plan to sell at a later date) from people’s homes for charity.

Road occupation licence (Scotland)	Contact the council for a road occupation licence if you want to put building materials, scaffolding, cranes, hoists, huts or anything else in the road in Scotland.

Scrap metal dealer licence (England and Wales)	You must hold either a site or mobile collector’s licence, issued by the council, if you’re a scrap metal dealer in England and Wales.

Slaughterman licence (Northern Ireland)	You must be licensed by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) to operate as a slaughterman in Northern Ireland.
Street collection licence (England & Wales)	If you want to collect money or sell items on the street for charity, you might need a street collection licence, depending on your local council.
Street trading licence (England and Wales)	Contact the council to find out if you need a licence to trade in the street in England and Wales.
Temporary Events Notice (England and Wales)	Contact your council for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) if you want to carry out a ‘licensable activity’ on unlicensed premises in England or Wales.
Register a farm vehicle	Your farm vehicle must have the right approval to be registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). To register and tax a new or used tractor you’ll need to send your registration documents and proof of approval to DVLA Swansea, SA99 1BE.
