Apply for council housing	You can apply for council housing through your local council. You’ll usually have to join a waiting list and you’re not guaranteed to get a property.
Apply for sheltered housing	Apply for sheltered or supported housing with special facilities such as alarms or wardens - available for elderly, disabled or vulnerable people.
Find out about Right to Buy from your council	You can apply to your council for the right to buy your council home. Your council may also be able to help you complete the application.
Request a repair to a council property	The council has to fix urgent problems in council owned homes which could affect the tenant’s health, safety or security within a certain period. This is known as the Right to Repair scheme.
