Uniform Grant
The Uniform Grant assists with the purchase of school uniforms for the children of needy persons, persons already in receipt of assistance from the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services and victims of natural disasters. To be considered for this grant you must be a needy person, a client of the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services (i.e. If you are already a client of the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services, you must meet with your officer to make a request for assistance.
Household Items Grant
The Household Items grant provides money for the purchase of beds, mattresses, appliances, kitchen utensils, etc. The maximum amount of the grant is TT$6,000.00 and is only available once every three (3) years. A one-time grant of TT$10,000 is available in the case of emergency or disasters. A client of the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services or other needy person who is in dire need of basic household items but is unable to purchase them.

Funeral Grant
Burial Assistance is a grant provided to pay burial costs when the relatives of a deceased person are unable to meet these costs, or when there is no one to take responsibility for the burial. You must visit the Social Welfare Division office in your district or in the district where the deceased resided and speak to an officer. Targeted Conditional Cash Transfer Programme (TCCTP) Regional Offices

Clothing Grant
The Clothing grant is provided to assist in the purchase of clothing, including school uniforms, shoes, pants, shirts, etc. The maximum amount of the grant is TT$500.00 per person, limited to the number of persons living in the household. A client of the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services or other needy person who is in dire need of basic clothing but is unable to purchase them. Special Child Grant
The Special Child grant is a new intervention of the Social Welfare Department and has been incorporated under the Public Assistance Act. It is a monthly grant for parents of children who have been certified as having a mental or physical disability. Children under the age of 18 years who have a mental or physical disability and who do not receive Public Assistance qualify for this grant.
Hardship Relief Programme
The Hardship Relief Programme provides financial assistance to qualified individuals to help pay their water bill. You must be a recipient of the old age pension, public assistance or disability grant, and must have a water bill with one of the following classifications:. You must obtain and complete an application form from the Ministry of Public Utilities or from any Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) office using the information provided below.
Emergency Cases Fund
The Emergency Cases Fund provides access to several grants designed to assist needy persons as well as persons who have been victims of a natural disaster or who are in dire need of assistance. National Social Development Programme (NSDP)
National Social Development Programme (NSDP). The National Social Development Programme (NSDP) is designed to meet the needs of low-income communities throughout the country by providing and improving the supply of water and electricity to communities, residences, recreational, sporting and other facilities. You must complete an NSDP Application Form, which can be obtained from the office of the Ministry of Public Utilities at the address below, or by following the link at the end of this section.
Dietary Grant
The Dietary Grant is a monthly grant of TT$600.00 per person for the purchase of specific and prescribed dietary foods for persons suffering from diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. To qualify for this grant you must be a needy person, such as someone receiving financial assistance from the state, who is suffering from an ailment such as diabetes or heart disease where a special diet is prescribed. Please note that application for this grant must be accompanied by a referral from a doctor in a Health Centre, along with relevant diet sheet and/or prescription.
House Rent Subsidy
The House Rent grant is short-term assistance available to persons who are unable to meet their current monthly rental payment and arrears. The maximum amount that can be accessed by a recipient is TT$7,500.00 over a three-month period, averaging TT$2,500.00 per month. Home Help Grant
The Home Help grant provides short-term care for persons in urgent need of home care due to illness. Welfare recipients and other needy persons whose family members have fallen ill and urgently need the assistance of a care-giver on a short-term and part-time basis are eligible to receive this grant. Emergency Housing Repair Grant
Emergency Housing Repair Grant. The Housing Repair Grant is provided for the emergency repair or completion of a house. Documentary evidence of security of tenure such as a deed of land ownership, land rent and/or land tax receipt, a letter of comfort from the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), or a letter from a bona fide landlord.
Disability Assistance
Disability Assistance is a monthly grant of TT$800.00 provided to persons with a physical or mental disability that have been certified as permanently disabled by a Medical Officer of the Ministry of Health or a Regional Health Authority (RHA). You have the right to submit an appeal, which will be considered by the Central Public Assistance Board if your application is rejected by the Local Board. Retiree Adolescent Partnership Programme (RAPP)
Retiree Adolescent Partnership Programme (RAPP). The Retiree Adolescent Partnership Programme (RAPP) provides a platform for learning enrichment and mentoring. It is geared towards helping adolescents, especially 'at risk youth', to appreciate the learning experience by providing a stimulating environment for positive social interaction.

Tobago Home Improvement Grant and Subsidy Programme. The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) is committed to improving the quality of housing in Tobago. This programme is designed to assist persons who have commenced construction of their home, but are unable to complete construction due to financial constraints.

Financial Support for Home Construction. Ministry of Housing and Urban Development offers assistance to individuals who own land and cannot afford a mortgage to construct a home. The applicant must be able to show proof of land ownership by providing a Certificate of Title in the applicant's name.

The Targeted Conditional Cash Transfer Programme (TCCTP) is a short-term food assistance and development programme that targets vulnerable persons and families in need. TCCTP recipients can purchase basic items they need to meet their daily nutritional requirements,thereby enhancing the health and dignity of their household and reducing the incidence of poverty. Provide conditional cash transfer to eligible recipients to assist in meeting nutritional needs of the household.
