Restoration of Citizenship
Former citizens of Trinidad and Tobago who wish to reclaim all rights and privileges enjoyed by citizens must apply to restore their citizenship. You must complete Application Form 16, which can be obtained from any of the Immigration Offices listed below or from any Trinidad and Tobago Foreign Mission. If you are paying at an Immigration Office, please be advised that the Cashier's Unit at each office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 2:30 p.m.
Application for Trinidad and Tobago Resident Status
Application for Trinidad and Tobago Resident Status. Foreign nationals wishing to reside in Trinidad and Tobago must apply for Resident Status through the Ministry of National Security (MNS). You must obtain and complete two copies of a "P&I 6 Form" from one of the offices below, or from any Trinidad and Tobago overseas mission.
Application for Citizenship
A foreign national who falls into any of the categories below is eligible to apply for Trinidad and Tobago Citizenship. All applicants must be of good character and must obtain a Police Certificate of Character from Trinidad and Tobago dated not more than six months from the date of application. If you applied at an Overseas Mission, you are required to enter Trinidad and Tobago upon approval of your Citizenship to make payment of fees and take the Oath of Allegiance before and receiving your Certificate of Citizenship.
